The Classic Ol'Geezers #2

07 Feb 2004

These pictures show the construction of the new K4TQU repeater tower during the summer of 19xx.

Concrete day. The first of three guy-wire anchors is poured.

The Classic Ol'Geezers. George Norton, W4EEE; Ricky Bray, KN4LA; Craig Cleveland, WA4HSN; Jon Cato, KC4MYC; Robert Stovall, W4KBY; Max Heller, KC4GZX; Ralph Costa, K4TQU. We're standing in front of the tower base section. All that red clay is about to be replaced by concrete.

Max, KC4GZX; George, W4EEE; Jon, KC4MYC; Robert, W4KBY; Craig, WA4HSN; Ralph, K4TQU. Here we're pouring the second guy-wire anchor. Judging by the number of people with hands on their hips, we must be hard at work.

Tower rasing day. Dan's assistant secures another tower guy.

Dan Cisson, N4GNR is preparing to attach the next set of guy-wires after stacking several sections of tower.

Ralph, K4TQU, looking for the correct tool.

George, W4EEE; Ralph, K4TQU; Ricky, KN4LA; Craig, WA4HSN; Mickey, AA4AU; Max, KC4GZX. Mickey offers Ralph a raw hot dog. He declines!

Linda, KN4KW. Wh'du'ya mean you've already got the camera. Linda says that really wasn't a party hat. A flood lamp was sitting on the porch shelf, right at the correct place!

George, W4EEE; Ralph, K4TQU; Ricky, KN4LA; Craig, WA4HSN; Mickey, AA4AU; Max, KC4GZX; Howard, K4EEJ.

Dan, N4GNR gives the ground crew a wave from the tower. At one point during the morning he did a hand stand from the tower.

More of the Classic Ol'Geezers. Max, KC4GZX; George, W4EEE; Linda Bray, KN4KW; Ricky, KN4LA; Craig, WA4HSN; Mickey Campbell, AA4AU, Howard Guill, K4EEJ. Notice that Howard has his pipe in hand.

Max, KC4GZX; George, W4EEE; Linda, KN4KW; Ricky, KN4LA; Craig, WA4HSN; Mickey, AA4AU, Howard, K4EEJ. George clowns around and adjusts his hallmark Post Office issue pith helmet.

Dan, N4GNR climbs back up the tower after making some adjustments.

Dan's assistant prepares another tower guy-wire.
